Can Clones Be Used In Hydroponics
The use of clones is done by taking a cutting from a mother plant and placing it in a mixed hormone powder or gel and then planting this cutting. Clones can be used in both soil crops and the hydroponics crops of cannabis.
When using clones in hydroponics it is a fairly easy task, since there is no soil to deal with after taking a cutting out of the hormone mixture, they are put in the growing medium. The clone will also grow much faster because it does not have to work as hard in providing nutrients to the rest of the plant when starting. With hydroponics the clone is fed nutrients directly rather than having to leach them from soil and this means it is able to concentrate on growing the root system.
One of the advantages of using clones is that the grower is getting a genetically exact copy of another marijuana plant that the grower felt was an excellent plant and harvest. Another advantage of using clones is as long as there is a mother plant kept there is no need to have to look for or purchase seeds, because cloning can be done continuously.
For many growers this is a large advantage to not having to search for seeds and having the exact plant that they want. As long as there is a mother plant kept there is an endless supply of cuttings that can be used for clones and that means an endless supply of new plants for harvesting. Gardening with hydroponics and using clones is an excellent way to keep the rotation of the crops without having to search for seeds approximately every four months. |
