Step By Step Cloning

Once you have decided to clone a marijuana plant because of its superior quality doing this step by step insures a good clone and an easy process. The first step is to select the plant of course, then take a growing tip of the plant approximately 3 to 6 inches long. The stem should have at least a one leaf internodes; this is where the leaf connects to the stem of the plant and will appear as a leaf on each side of the stem.

After the correct stem is chosen then taking the sharp razor blade that a single edged carefully cut off one or two leaves from the stem. Make a cut approximately 1 inch below the internodes this should be in about the same area as the trimmed leaves. In order to make this cut place the block of wood or Styrofoam behind the stem and holding it tightly against the stem. This is done for two reasons it will protect the stem from breaking and it will also protect your fingers that would be holding the stem. This cut should be made quickly so this stem does not split or crush, it should be a clean-cut.

Once this cut has been made, the cutting should be placed in rooting hormone and should be there for 30 to 60 seconds. After soaking the amount of time, it is then placed in the growing medium by inserting it and leaving room for root to grow. When it is a liquid rooting hormone or when it is a gel hormone, it will just be dipped and then placed in the growing medium.

Then the soil or growing medium will be packed gently and firmly against the cutting so that the cutting is securely in place.
