Drying the Ganja Crops

A decision that will need to be made is how and where to dry the ganja plants once the crop is harvested. This means having a drying box or drying room, which must have heat and ventilation. The heat source for many growers is an electric heater as it can produce enough heat to make the dying box or room reach approximately 130 degrees. A large crop is done by placing the leaves on wire racks, these are built using window screening. When in a drying box, it can be made using a wooden box from fruit such as an orange crate and fiberglass insulation. There will need to be vents cut in the top of the box for ventilation and the screen shelves must have a baffle between them and the heat.

If the crop consists of only a few ganja plants or when the males are harvested, the leaves can be dried in the oven by placing the leaves on a cookie sheet and placed in the oven set on broil. They should be placed on the middle rack and in a short amount of time the leaves will begin to smoke and curl. Once this occurs the leaves should be moved around and placed back in the oven on broil for approximately ten to twenty seconds before removing them from the oven.

It is also possible to use aluminum foil in place of a cookie sheet to dry the ganja to get the same results in drying the leaves.
