Preparing The Garden

When a grower decides to plant a weed crop the area where the plants will grow to maturity and harvesting must be prepared, just as any other type of garden. This means the soil must be cleared of debris; it should be tilled where the pot seedlings will be planted and for an optimum crop the pH level of the soil should be watched. Another thing that will need to be done if the crop will be grown near a wooded area is that it will receive enough sunlight. Sunlight can change when it is a wooded area, since after the last frost the trees will not have leaves the size that they will grow to during the warm weather. So, while this might seem like a good spot for the weed to grow and be hidden it will not be a thriving crop if it does not get the amount of sunlight needed.

If the dirt needs other soil added to it so that it has the right consistency for growing these types of plants then it should be done when tilling so that the soil will be mixed well with the ground dirt. This means it will be worked down into the area where the seed roots will grow.

The location is important and it must be an area that receives at least 8 hours of sun a day and if it is necessary the area can be fenced in to keep some outdoor creatures out of the plants.
