Growing Clones

After clones have been planted in the growing medium they should then be misted with the spray bottle of water. Prior to placing the humidity dome over the planting tray water should be used to miss also. Before placing the dome over the planting tray a few holes should be pierced through the dome in order for the cuttings to have ventilation.

The dome should be lifted in order to mist the cuttings two or three times per day, this will keep cuttings from drying out and its important as they have no roots yet. Another reason is important to the cuttings have roots they need approximately 90% humidity inside the dome.

Ventilation is another item that needs to be addressed, the cuttings need to be kept between 72 and 80 degrees and if it is warmer under the dome than this temperature more ventilation will be needed. More ventilation is simple at this point it is matter of piercing were holes in the dome.

Light will be another consideration; the cuttings will require light and will do well with a florescent light fixture when growing indoors. The florescent light with one cool white bulb and one warm white bulb in the fixture will give adequate lighting. The amount of time that will be required for the plans to have lights is 24 hours per day. When growing indoor, grow tubes can also be used. Growing outdoors the cuttings can be placed in a semi-sunny area with a dappled amount of light.
