Tying To A Post
When growing marijuana plants indoors it is often necessary to use a stake or a post to tie them up so that the stalk does not bend or break. This is because the plant that is grown in the house is not as strong as the plant grown outdoors.
This is not a major concern with people who grow cannabis indoors, because there is often a better trade off for the weaker stem. This trade off is more resin; there will usually be more resin in the leaves than the marijuana plant grown outdoors. The reason for this is because the resin goes into growing the leaves on the indoor plant instead of strengthening the stalk of the plant like it does with plants grown outside.
Plants protect them selves against Mother Nature and one of the ways they do this is to have strong stems that can with stand weather conditions, such as wind and rain. The plant grown indoors does not have these battles and therefore, the stem does not grow as thick and the resin instead is concentrated in the growth of the leaves making a better harvest.
Staking a plant is not difficult, if there are only a few plants then they can be tied to separate posts to hold them up without putting undo stress on the stalk. If there are many plants then some people have a system where there is a post at the end of each row and a guide wire across the top, which they can tie each plant to the guide wire to secure it.
