Using The Right Medium For Hydroponics

There are several different types of mediums that can be used when growing a ganja crop with hydroponics. The use of rockwool is common, which is a solid type of material, and comes in blocks; it has the appearance of fiberglass.

There are other mediums that can be used that will work in the same manner as rockwool and then there are some mediums that mimic soil and have loose particles. These particles can become loose and should be used with caution by the weed grower that is using hydroponics. This is because the loose particles can drain into the water filled with nutrients and then be sucked into the pump and tubing and this can cause a clog in the pump.

A clogged pump can ruin the continuous water flow timer settings, as no water will be able to be pumped into the tubes. This can make the weed plants suffer since they have no moisture that is held in their growing medium, because it is designed to drain quickly since the plants are watered as many as six or eight times a day.

Drying plants can be a danger to the crop that is not ready to harvest and will need immediate attention by the grower to correct the hydroponics system to restore the timed watering to keep the plants healthy. For this reason it is safer for the person, growing weed to use a solid medium for growing with hydroponics such as rockwool.
