Marijuana Sprouting Tips
After germinating the marijuana seed in damp paper towels or damp sponges, when the seed cracks open and the root is beginning to show it is time to plant it in a sprouting box, peat pots or peat plugs. There are requirements for the soil that the seed will be planted in for it to grow healthy.
The soil that the pot seeds will grow best in will be a mixture of humus, five sand and soil, to this should be added some organic fertilizer. This mixture should be prepared and watered before germinating the seed so that the fertilizer has time to put nutrition into the soil.
When the seed is planted the tip of the root that has begun to show from the cracked seed must be carefully placed in the soil so that the root is facing the bottom of the pot. The seed should be placed in a pre-made hole so there is no damage to the root during planting.
The grower whenever handling pot seeds should wear gloves so that their bare hands do not come in contact with the root. This is because; chemicals on the hands even from soaps can poison the new root and kill the plant.
Another way to plant the seeds is to place them in paper cups, this way when they are ready to be transplanted the cup can be ripped off without disturbing the roots. To plant in a cup, the soil should be prepared and prior to being put in the cups the cups will need holes poked in the bottom so that there is adequate drainage. Without the holes when the seeds are watered instead of growing the roots will rot and die off.
