What Type Of Soil Is Needed?

Soil is one of the most important parts of growing a ganja crop, plants can only grow as large and as healthy as the environment they are in and that includes the growing medium they are in. The soil that the seedlings should be planted in should be in an area that is well draining, yet the soil should stay moist.

When held the soil should be able to pack in the hand when squeezed and when dropped to the ground it should fall completely apart. This will ensure that the soil will allow for root growth and at the same time it will hold the plant tightly so there is no fear of a light wind loosening the plants in the ground.

The soil should also not be clay, if so then it needs to be mixed with soil that contains pearlite or rockwool to allow drainage and a loose type of soil for root growth. When the soil is prepared properly before planting it will give the seedlings what they need to grow into mature plants. Prior to planting seedlings the soil should be loosened so that as the roots grow the soil will be loose enough for the roots to move.

One way of testing how good soil is that many experienced gardeners use is once they have tilled the soil they release worms into the dirt, if the worms remain in that soil then it is good for planting. If the worms do not remain in the soil after a day or two, then the soil is not ready to put the pot seeds into the ground without further preparation.
